Concord Companies’ origin dates to 1989, when Ted Duckworth founded Duckworth Realty, Inc. and began providing commercial property management, leasing, and brokerage services in central Mississippi.

As the company grew, opportunities for owning and repositioning commercial properties presented themselves, and the company’s acquisition arm was founded as a result. In 2005, Breck Hines joined Ted as a partner and together they continued to grow all sectors of the company, including management and brokerage services.

This period saw growth in the company’s owned assets, through acquisitions and developments. John Michael Holtmann joined Ted and Breck, with a focus on growing the retail leasing and brokerage business, and ultimately evolving into retail property acquisitions and development. In 2008, Ted and Breck formed The District Land Development Company, which led the development of The District at Eastover over the ensuing decade.

In 2018, Ted, Breck and John Michael consolidated their commercial real estate companies under one umbrella – Concord Companies. Since 2018, Concord Companies has continued to acquire and develop retail, office, and industrial properties. In addition, the company has tripled the size of its property management and advisory business.
